Check-in and boarding passes
For self-transfer journeys, each flight must be checked in separately. Airlines do not automatically check you in for connecting flights booked on separate tickets.
Below is what you need to know about check-in and boarding passes.
How do I check in?
You must check in directly with each airline included in your trip.
You can usually check in by:
Visiting the airline’s website
Using the airline’s mobile app
Going to the airline’s check-in desk at the airport
Online check-in typically opens 24 to 48 hours before departure, depending on the airline.
Boarding passes
After checking in, the airline will issue your boarding pass for that flight.
Boarding passes may be:
Downloaded to your phone
Printed at home
Collected at the airport check-in desk
For self-transfer trips, make sure you have a separate boarding pass for each flight.
Important to know
Dohop does not issue boarding passes
Airlines control check-in rules and deadlines
Some airlines may require airport check-in, especially if:
Documents need to be verified
You have checked baggage
Online check-in is not available
During your connection
Because your flights are on separate tickets, you may need to:
Exit the arrivals area
Pass immigration and customs
Collect checked baggage
Check in again for your next flight
Allow enough time between flights to complete these steps.
